I just finished teaching a Wilderness Medical Associates' 5-day WEMS Upgrade course in Ithaca, NY. This is the exact same course formerly known as the WEMT. It covers the same skills with the same focus and attention to practicing emergency medicine in an austere field situation. An important aspect of a WEMS course is learning to perform in a variety of challenging environmental scenarios with limited and delayed resources. Conducting class in a variety of challenging outdoo
